This group is for emails to the Montgomery County Road Runners Club membership. Typical emails will be announcements such as race results, photos, volunteer requests, etc. Postings do not have to be official - for example, you can post that you are offering to organize a carpool or give away a jog stroller that you no longer use. But extended discussions annoy many members so anything likely to provoke discussion should go to mcrrc-discuss. Note that certain types of announcements are forbidden here (non-MCRRC race advertising, for example) except with prior approval of the Board.

Avoid attachments if possible; Use links instead.

To reduce errors in announcements, posts are reviewed by the moderators. (You wouldn't believe how many race directors post incorrect information.) We have found this step to significantly reduce followups, discussion, and confusion. Generally, the moderators will approve, correct, or reject messages very quickly. But if time is of the essence, use mcrrc-alert.

In order to subscribe, you must be an MCRRC member. This will be verified. Follow the instructions in the next paragraph carefully.

To subscribe, click on the Join This Group button. You will be prompted to tell the group owner about yourself and why you would like to join. In response, enter your name so we can verify your membership. New members should also provide the approximate date they joined the club and how (online, at a race, mailed, etc). This helps us track down memberships that occasionally fall through the cracks. Thanks!
