In the top half of the draw, Max Mirnyi and Andy Ram advanced to the semi-finals
with a 6-4, 7-6(4) win over the British squad of Ross Hutchins and Andy Murray.
Mirnyi and Ram made a successful debut together in Vienna last October as they
captured the title. This is their fourth tournament of the season (5-3) as a duo
and best result thus far.
Mirnyi is 23-9 lifetime in Indian Wells and he's playing in the semi-finals for
the sixth straight year. His best finish was a runner-up in 2002 (w/Federer).
Ram, who captured the title last year with countryman Jonathan Erlich, is trying
to reach the final for the third straight year. He and Erlich, who has been
sidelined with an elbow injury since last year's US Open, were finalists in
2007.
