Mountain Bike Festival has grown into a weekend of merriment
unrivaled in modern history!
Who? - Anyone that enjoys music, nonsense, camping, bonfires, and world
class cross country mountain bike racing.
What? - Tour de Tykes Mountain Bike Race and Hess Festival.
Where? - Meadow Lane in Danville, PA and the Geisinger Stewardship
Forest.
When? - June 6th & 7th, 2009
Why? - Because good people like dirt!

Here's what's on tap:
Saturday - Hess Fest
Noon - Official start time of the event (but you can get there as early as
Friday evening if you want and extra night of camping).
12:30 p.m. - Kids fun race
1:00 p.m. - Skills park challenge - held on our new and growing mountain
bike skill park area.
3:00 p.m. - Bike Demolition Derby - Yes, it's what you think it is.
4:00 p.m. - Xterra race - short track lap race with hills, stream crossing
and more!
6:00 p.m. - First Band begins - The Salamanders
6:30 p.m. - Huffy toss - Yes, this is what you think it is also.
8:00 p.m. - Second band begins with the lighting of the bonfire - To be
Announced on the website.
10:30 p.m. - Lights out for campers (so you can get some sleep for Sunday).
* PRIZES - The top point winner will receive a Rocky Mountain DJ Jump bike
frame!
Sunday - Tour de Tykes Cross Country Mountain Bike Race
This race is part of the Mid-Atlantic Super Series (MASS) and the River
Towns Race Series.
This single lap race is 90% sweet single track trails with
only a few short sections of fire roads included to get from one point to
another.
8:30 a.m. - Beginners race - 8+ miles of hills, rocks and fun. A
"do-able" challenge for most.
10:30 a.m. - Expert race - If you're a hammer, you won't want to miss this
race. If you're a fan, you won't want to miss this race.
11:00 a.m. - Sport race - Bring your fitness as this course is as
challenging as it is fun and beautiful.
* PRIZES - Participants will receive mugs, medals, lapel pins and other race
memorabilia that is a step above the standard race fare. Expert racers
compete for a share of the day's purse.
All proceeds benefit the Children's Miracle Network and the Parks and
Recreational Facilities of Montour County.
