Because of Hurricane Frances, the Marlins series against the Cubs
could be in jeopardy... The options being tossed around are:
-Play a Doubleheader Friday (Sept 3) at Pro Player Stadium and move
one of the games to Chicago next week
-Play a single game on Friday and a Doubleheader on Monday, Sept 20
at Pro player Stadium
-Play a Doubleheader on Sunday and a single game on Monday, Sept 20
or Monday Oct 4
The common sense option, of course, is out of the question... Since
the Marlins and Cubs are playing at Wrigley next weekend, of course,
the easiest solution is to swap the series locations... But of course
thats not an option because of the Dolphins!!! So basically, a team
in the playoff hunt (the Marlins) loses out yet again to a team who
has a better chance at having the number 1 pick than going to the
playoffs (the Dolphins)... Couldn't the Dolphins move their game to
the Orange Bowl and let the Marlins swap their series witht he Cubs
at the Pro from this week to next week?!?!?! Of course not, since
Wayne Huzienga doesn't care about baseball or the Marlins... This is
yet another reason the Marlins need a new stadium of their own-so if
their is an issue of having to swap stadium sites for a series
because of situations such as this with the Hurricane, it could be
easily be solved...
BTW_anyone in the group who reside in South Florida, be careful. My
prayers are with yall.. I have family who went through Charley 3
weeks ago and from everything I've seen on this storm, its 10 times
worse and is huge in size compared to Charley...
