Wisconsin Timber Rattlers at Kane County Cougars
Sunday, April, 14th, 2002
Phillip B. Elfstrom Stadiu, Geneva, Illinios
The Cougars have their first winning streak of the
year. Yes I know it's only two games but hey, it's a
winning streak.
Jeff Fulchino made his third start of the year, and
did good. He pitched five innings, giving up four hits
and one run. He walked two and struck out seven. He
threw 82 pitches, 59 of them were strikes.
Nick Ungs then made his third appearance and his secod
out of the bullpen. He thre four scoreless innings,
giving up two hits, while walking two and striking out
four.
Juan Carlos Garcia made two important bunts, that
should not be overlooked, in their importance to the
Cougars victory. In the sixth inning with the score
tied at one, and runners on first and second, he laid
down a nice sacrifice bunt to get the runners over. In
the eight inning he did it again to get a runner to
second with only one out.
The scoring began in the first when with two outs,
Shin-Soo Choo walked. Greg Dobbs then singled to
right. Alejandro Cadena then doubled to right to score
Choo.
The Cougars would then even the score in the bottom of
the inning when, Anthony Brewer lead off by being hit
by a pitch. Heath Kelly then reached on an error by
the left fielder Miguel Villio. Villio bascially just
droped the ball. Brewer would end up on second. Scott
Hicks then grounded into a fielder's choice, on the
play Kelly was out at second, Brewer made it to third.
Charles Frazier hit a sacrifice fly to center to allow
Brewer to score.
The Cougars would take the lead in the sixth when,
Charles Frazier led things off with a single to first.
The first baseman Sean Peless lost the ball in the
wind and it droped for a hit. Hunter Wyant then
walked. Juan Garcia then put down a sacrifice bunt to
move the runners along. Guy Lynamn grounded out to
second, on the play Frazier would score.
In the bottom of the eight the Cougars put the
finishing touches on the game when Hunter Wyant led
thing off with a single to right. Juan Garcia then
bunted him over to second. Guy Lynam flied to left.
Rex Rundgren singled to center, to drive home Wyant.
