Just wanted to make sure everyone's heard - Mark signed with the Royals
today.  He reportedly got $4mil for 2006, with a $3mil option for 2007.

It *sucks* that he's with a less-than-playoff-contention team, but if he had
to go at least it's close (for me).  The Cards are my team, but I'm hoping
to get over there to see him some next year.

I can't believe it either.  His fielding stats were all better than
Luis Castillo's.  He definitely deserved the Gold Glove.

Yeah, ebay does have some great stuff.
Also, the Yahoo auctions sometimes have Grud stuff.

A few years ago, for my high school graduation, my Mom bid on (and
won!) a beautifully framed picture of Grudzielanek that had his
autographed jersey number in it too, along with a baseball card on the
yahoo auctions.  I also got some of the starting line-up (I believe
that what they're called) figurines from ebay.

Some people have some awesome things.  Once I even saw an autographed,
game used bat... there's a lot of interesting stuff to keep your eye on!

Ladies, JMHO after watching him in the 03 postseason, but I think he
struggled at the plate because he was not healthy.  Two years ago in
the division series when he was a Cub, Grudz made a great catch and
landed on his shoulder and played the remained of the postseason
with a torn labrum in his right shoulder...hence, he struggled
terribly at the plate.

His back must have flared up again somewhat.  I know he would never
use it as an excuse as to why he struggled just as he didn't use the
torn labrum as an excuse in 03.

I think he will be back with the Cardinals next season for sure.

I watched all the post season games. It was great to see Grudz do some
great stuff the last two games. It will be sad to have to wait awhile

Wow... Mark's not having a good series.
This is actually the FIRST Cardinals game I've seen in the post-season
(and, well... ALL season).
I couldn't wait for the game tonight, I hope the Cardinals can get
some consecutive hits going and score some runs and pull out a win!!

I'm hoping for an Angels/ Cardinals World Series!

out well. You can have your opinion about him, but mine won't change.
He is in no point comparable to Mark. (Even if he is not as bad as
Bonds)

To answer your comment, i have to say that I don't really KNOW him.
Lemme explain. My friend and I (we met at the olympic stadium in
Montreal in 1998) have been following Mark's career since he joined
our defunt-team in 1995. Since then, we have been meeting with him
each year (in other cities since he was not always playing in
Montreal and now, because no teams come to Montreal!!!) So with time,
he started recognizing us and talking with us and giving us gifts,
etc. He is hard to approach, but once he knows you, its great. My
friend and I told each other that our 10 years around him simply
didnt go unrewarded. It was nice to realize that he was a great guy
and not a Kerry Wood or Barry Bonds type of guy!!

I so enjoy watching Grudz play, not only is he good looking,
but you can tell he loves to play. I am glad that he has been valued
and gotten to show so many how valuable he is.
I also have his picture on my laptop, every time it comes on a picture
of him does too.
I hope he has a great night tonight and Cards win, at least his season
won't be over after Sunday.

I read a little blurb in the Sun Times over the weekend that says
LaRussa treasures him.  I thought that was cute.  Sure is better
than anything the Cubs have at 2nd this season by far!  I can tell
the St Louis fans just love him too.
