Just have to chime in here ... though I'm a little late to the party b/c my
internet's been down ever since the tornadoes went through the area on
Sunday (we got lucky though, no damage in my town).
It *killed *me to see the Cards lose out on Grudzie. Not just because he's
my guy, but because they're my team and I feel like Grudzie's defense was a
hugely important part of our success last year. Especially with so many
groundball pitchers. The fact that he stayed in Missouri ... I joke with my
friends that he stayed for me but he shouldn't have done it because he's
going to end up hating me if he puts me before his career :P
It's kind of a blessing though because Cards tickets are nearly impossible
to get this year, what with the new stadium. And KC is just as close to me
as StL so if I have to go elsewhere to get my baseball fix this year, why
not have my favourite player there too? I am sorry he had to go to a team
with that record, but I do think they are definitely making steps in the
right direction with Sanders, Mientkie, and of course Grud.
My first Royals game is April 30th :)
I only get the Cards game on television... but I shouldn't complain because
I do get all 162 of them. I will miss seeing Grudz though.
