You are absolutely right about them not being able to keep good
help. They've been very fortunate to pick up second baseman for
just one season (Mark, Tony Womack) and have them make an impact.
BUT...their luck will run out...eventually. I wish Spivey and the
team well, but I do wish the owners would make second base more of a
priority instead of a position that can be filled by the cheapest
available player :(
I think Mark, Reggie, and Kerry Robinson have alread helped the
Royals a lot. They're all doing really well offensively in spring
training. I am a bit concerned because Mark hasn't played too much
lately because of a "tight" back. I hope that he gets his 500 ABs
this season and is able to stay with the Royals for 2007. I also
hope he's OK for Opening Day--we have tickets to see the
Royals/Tigers game :)
That's awesome that you get both the Royals & Cards games. We get
them...but only because we subscribe to the MLB package. We do get
the Royals games on the radio too. Their AAA team is here (Omaha).
I've always thought that John Mabry was a really good guy. Glad to
know that he really is! What a sweet thing for him to do :)
