Welcome to the group! I was listening to that game on the radio, driving
home from work and I FREAKED OUT when they said "collision at first base."
Like those aren't already the most traumatic words of the season, thanks to
Scott Rolen's season-ending injury. Anyway, I was imagining worst-case
scenario. Thank god he was back to work the next day, turning those double
plays like nothing had happened :)
My boss even called me that night after it happened, lol. He's like "what
happened to your guy out there?" And everyone at work (we're all Cardinal
fans) was talking to me about it like I knew Grudzie personally, lol.
And then people who don't know who he is see the picture I have on my desk
(of me & Grudzie) and just assume he's my boyfriend. Ok, sometimes I don't
bother to correct them... (well, he *is *my boyfriend, he just doesn't know
it)
Anyway, the last game I went to was Aug. 21st, when he wasn't in the lineup
(at least I'd just seen him August 17th) and I had to wait until after the
game to find out he had that nasty knee infection.
