Can I take a second to brag about my son? He has wanted to play baseball for
a few years now. I finally signed him up this year. He is 13 years old. I
was worried, because I know that the other boys have been playing a long
time and I thought my son would have a hard time keeping up. Well, he seems
to be doing great! He has made some phenominal catches (plays right field)
and some great hits! Coaches, other players and parents are all
complimenting him on how good he is. Last night, he made a great catch that
ended the inning and prevented 2 runs from scoring. THE UMPIRE walked off
the field, into the dugout and said, "Great catch out there, bud!" I don't
know if that's normal, but I've never seen an umpire do that and was
impressed! I'm such a PROUD Mom!!!!!

He wants to be the next Manny. :-) I hope his dream comes true. I'd love to
be sitting at Fenway watching my son on the field. I keep telling him,
though... he has to get that Manny Glare going. Have you ever noticed how
Manny glares at the pitcher as he walks to bat? Must be intimidating for the
pitcher!
