Hi Krista, Hi Angelica,
This is going to be short post since I have to left for batting
practice shortly. The traffic from Santa Barbara to Anaheim was
hellish. Instead of a 2-hr drive it took over 3 hours to arrive. Then
there was a line at the hotel to check-in. I also knew that I had
missed most of batting practice. I decided it was best to lie down and
rest a bit.
You won't believe the number of Red Sox fans out here in Southern
California! We outnumbered the Angels fans in my section. I'm here at
the games by myself and at one game last year I sat by nasty fans.
I'll be sitting in a different area tonight and hope I'll get lucky
again. I tell you more about the fans in another post.
I was bummed when I didn't see Manny in the line-up. I really wanted
to cry. I kept looking over in the dugout hoping to get a glimpse of
him. In the third inning I finally saw him on the bench. I might have
been there the whole time. He stood up lending over the dugout fence
and I got all excited. I spent most of the time watching him pacing,
stretching, and running back and forth in the dugout. I prayed he was
warming up to come in as a pinch-hitter. I think it was the end of the
7th when I noticed he had put on his batting gloves, and those sexy
braids under his blue cap. At the end of the 8th I finally pointed
Manny out to those around me. Everyone started chanting, "Manny,
Manny" and went he stepped out to the batter's circle we went nuts!
His hit almost went out of the park. At least he didn't get strike
out. At least I got to see him at bat.
I've got more to say but I've got to get to the stadium and try to go
get to the fan section. Someone told me that this stadium has limited
the area where we can see the players. It's not a large area so I need
to leave now. I'll post again tonight if I don't get in too late and
I'm not too tired.
