Real Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro talked about his former team mate Ronaldo,
who suffered a career-threatening injury yesterday night.
Italian national team captain and Real Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro is
preparing with the squad for the highly anticipated upcoming Champions League
clash against Roma. The first leg will be played in Rome at the Stadio Olimpico,
and the World Cup winner is confident his team will do well.
"Real Madrid are ready for the match against Roma, despite the fact that we
have several players out injured," he said.
"Roma are having a good season, but Roberto Mancini's Inter are the strongest
team in the Italian league. They deserve to be on top of the table."
Cannavaro also talked about the bad injury occurred yesterday night to his
former Real Madrid team mate Ronaldo: "It's always hard to find the right words
for these kinds of bad injuries. Ronaldo had already suffered from a major
injury before and stayed out for two years, so it won't be easy for him to come
back again.
"The advice I can give him is to get his act together again and try to start
over again, even if he's over 30. I hope he comes back to play because he is a
fantastic player so it would be a shame for him to leave football like this."
