Geoff
all teams are welcome at cumberland... big field... if 2 teams, will have to go
through UPA paperwork process (ideally online) as 2 teams.

The Seacoast Youth Invitational is looking for one more area team to sign up.
Right now, we have Portsmouth Ultimate Frisbee, Shortridge Academy, and Exeter
High School.

The tourney is set for Saturday, May 9 at Community Campus in Portsmouth, and
will be free for participants. The deadline for handing in rosters is April 3.

I still haven't heard from Oyster River High School or Dover High School. If
you or anyone you know plays Disc at one of these schools, please spread the
word about the tourney!

Thanks,

Mark

Date for States this year is set for Sunday, May 24, 2009.

Thoughts on possible location at Hampden Academy? Will know by early March if this is possible. But please post your thoughts on this and if your team would be able to attend. Hampden Academy has had a team for 2 years. Bangor is a young team.
Both would NOT likely make a trek down to southern Maine for States. There has not been a Bangor/Hampden area team to States since 3 years ago due to location being in southern Maine for 3 years straight.

Else default location of Cumberland Fairgrounds.

Will need help to run tourney.. I will likely be teaching a May term class at Bates so my schedule all of May will be packed.

Aaron,

How are things?

I am running a mini indoor tournament in Portland in a few weeks. Still a few
spots left.

Could you blast the Orono list and the High School list?

Thanks

$ub early/$ub Often

On Saturday February 21st, at YourSpace in Gorham Maine, Portland Ultimate is
hosting the first ever Sub Early/Sub Often tournament. We will be playing from
1p-5p.

The cost to play is $15 and if you win it all, you get your $15 back. Well,
that wasn't enough for some of you, so we changed it. You play on the winning
team and you get $16!!! That's right, you actually make a dollar. Now we can
really call
ourselves "professional athletes"

We are approaching the limit for the number of players, so don't delay, sign up
quick.

More information and to sign up, click here:

Hello!
According to HA officials, NO TEAMS can play at Hampden fields w/o insurance
since there is no official HA Ultimate club (yet). NO TEAMS CAN PLAY THIS
SUNDAY! Thus we will reschedule to one of the following Sundays and have the
tourney UPA
sanctioned ($100)... so teams will have to pay between $10-15 as an entry fee.
Please post which Sundays are preferable for your team... Thanks!

Rescheduling of 1st Annual Hampden Ultimate Invitational to:
10/19
10/26
11/2
11/9

*IDEAL TO SCHEDULE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE... SO HOW ABOUT 10/19???

Note that FB event date is being changed to 10/19... this is not set in stone..

Interested in a youth tourney at Hampden on the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend? 4 full sized fields.. room for up to 10-12 teams. Since the fall season, open to alums and coaches as well. Hampden Ultimate is confirming field availability but we
need to know if enough teams are interested.. PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR TEAM AND RSVP HASH (aaron.hoshide@umit.maine.edu) ASAP EVEN IF YOU CAN BRING ONLY A PARTIAL TEAM! THANKS!

From last we heard from Brunswick, they are in so at this point..

Saturday, August 23 2008, Rockland

Another chance for Hats! Last month was AWESOME, with about 40 players from all over, and this month can be AWESOMEER! Here's my take on the summer:

June
Was nice
July
rain
rain
rain
rain
rain
HIDCOAST MAT (Sunny!)
rain
August
rain
rain
rain
rain
rain
HIDCOAST MAT (Sunny?)
Who knows

Whatever the case you can see the pattern; come to Hidcoast Mat and it will be both awesome and Sunny.

About the tourney: a hat tournament is a sort of pickup tourney. Players of absolutely every skill level are encouraged to come (And we mean absolutely every skill level). Every brings a hat (extra ridiculous ones are appreciated) and throws it in a big bag. Hats are drawn from the bag to select the teams for the day. Play proceeds in a round-robin format, with breaks for feeding barbecue style, playing ridiculous ultimate games, and potentially also naps in the grass. Remember hats must be worn at all times during play. A hat that falls off mitigates a turnover at Hidcoast Mat, unless caught by a team-member (heroic measure are encouraged to save fallen hats). Much fun is had by all.

So! Set the countdown tickin': Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 10am in Rockland. Kenniston Field, located on Old County Road in Rockland, right next to the old MBNA building, about a quarter mile south of the intersection of Old County Road and Route 17 (googlemap: http://tinyurl.com/6ldvjo).

Barbecue again! What fun! Bring five bucks or so for that; but there's no tourney fee at all.

Bring a (crazy) hat and a few bucks for the barbecue! Tell your friends! Tell your neighbors! Tell your pets! Tell your friendly local convenience stores! Be in touch with any questions! Let’s make Hidcoast Mat Volume IV the biggest best and craziest yet!

Volume V! A big number! Hats Hats Hats Hats Hats! Let's keep it up!

-Danji Buck-Moore

Announcing the Triumphant Return:
Hidcoast Mat: Volume IV!
After ten long, cold, and arduous months anxiously awaiting the return of that Midcoast Ultimate Hat Tournament know as Hidcoast Mat, Volume IV is upon us!
A hat tournament is a sort of pickup tourney. Players of absolutely every skill level are encouraged to come (And we mean absolutely every skill level). Every brings a hat (extra ridiculous ones are appreciated) and throws it in a big bag. Hats are drawn from the bag to select the teams for the day. Remember hats must be worn at all times during play. A hat that falls off mitigates a turnover at Hidcoast Mat, unless caught by a team-member (heroic measure are encouraged to save fallen hats).
The discs will fly high on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 10am in Rockland. The field will be Kenniston Field, which is located on Old County Road in Rockland, right next to the old MBNA building, about a quarter mile south of the intersection of Old County Road and Route 17 (googlemap: http://tinyurl.com/6ldvjo).
We’ll be having a barbecue continuing the Hidcoast Mat tradition – a word to that: we’ll send around a hat (a cool one) at the beginning of the day and then run out to get food supplies – so a few dollars for the barbecue fund from each player would be fantastic. No tourney fee! Just donations for the food. AND/OR if you have any delicious veggies for the burgers or salads or wish to attempt making a Soufflé, all these things would also be greatly appreciated.
And stay tuned and get geared up for Volume V in mid August.
