Re: [maineyouthultimate] Out of state teams at States

Nothing has been set -- I was just told to email the list to see what you think.

Just to add in more info -- Skill wise we'd be towards the middle of the pack.... no where near the top.

Anyway... we're just looking for a good way to get games that weekend, and I'd love to play more Maine teams.

I agree with Gain. Also I don't think it would be fair to teams in the same pool with St. Johnsbury to 1. get tired playing a team from another state and 2.Get eliminated from championship contention because they lose to them. Basically, this is the Maine championships and it determines bids to New Englands, and as such, i think it should be limited to Maine teams.
Thanks,
Chase

This is Gain Robinson, i play for Cumberland ultimate, ME. If i understand this correctly a team from out of state would be attending the Maine state championship tournament? I don't feel like this is very fair for a couple of reasons. It would be disappointing if a team from another state won the Maine state tournament. There are also several young programs that are trying to solidify themselves as legitimate teams that probably couldnt contend with St. Johnsbury. If i am misunderstanding this situation please correct me.

If we are looking for votes, that sounds fine to me.

Hello Maine Youth Ultimate,

I've been looking for a tournament to bring my boys and girls teams to on the weekend of 5/24, and have had a hard time finding a tournament.. .. That is until I thought about Maine :)

My question to you is... what are you thoughts on out of state teams? I totally understand giving in-state teams priority... so, I guess my question is:

1) Would you be okay with an out of state team coming to your champs?
2) Do you have space for a team or two from St. Johnsbury?
