Hello everyone,

My name is Josh Seamon and I run the St. Johnsbury Academy Ultimate program over
in St. Johnsbury Vermont. I have two pieces of information I'd like to share
with you:

1) I will be running a Level I UPA Coaching Clinic in Portland, ME on Saturday,
March 17th. Full information, including registration instructions, can be found
right here: [ http://upa.org/coaches ]http://upa.org/coaches

Here is a brief description of the clinics:

In 2007 the UPA's Coaching Certification Program is back with GAIA Ultimate as
its title sponsor. Since 2004 the UPA has run 40 clinics throughout the country
and certified over 600 coaches and 50 volunteers. We've received great reviews
on both the
clinic as well as the instructors. The GAIA UPA Coaching Corps is a process of
educating coaches and volunteers, professionalizing and growing the vocation of
coaching, and creating a pool of qualified volunteers to help grow Ultimate. The
program
consists of 2-½ hour clinics for volunteers and full day clinics for coaches in
which they learn skills and techniques to: introduce Ultimate and its skills to
new players; teach and maintain Spirit of the Game; interact with and utilize
parents;
improve the fitness of their team; maintain high professional coaching
standards; and behave both ethically and legally while coaching.

2) This May [ http://acultimate.com ]St. Johnsbury Ultimate will be hosting its
third annual home tournament. This year we are splitting the girls and open
divisions across two weekends. The girls division will play on Sat-Sun, May
12-13th and the
open division on Sat-Sun, May 19-20. We're currently have 10 girls teams and 12
open teams and I would LOVE to be able to make the final push to 16 teams in
each division. Full tournament information is online right here: [
http://vyul.org/content/view/46/69/ ]http://vyul.org/content/view/46/69/. Even
though the bids were due in last week, I'm extending the deadline by two weeks
to try and get to 16 teams in each division.

Note: I am putting together at least one girls pickup team for the 5/12-13 girls
division. I already have several experienced girls who will be captaining, so if
you have a couple girls that would like to play in the tournament, send them my
way.
Playing on the pickup team is free. The only thing you need to do to play on the
team is register with the UPA and get to St. Johnsbury. Information on the girls
pickup teams is online right here: [ http://vyul.org/content/view/56/86/
