Really cool, I'm looking forward to it Anne-Marie. The exhibit yesterday was
awesome, such visceral pieces. I don't know if the kids picked up on the same
feeling but I thought it was very intense.

capoeira interview.
I hope you enjoy!

I saw this other one a few weeks ago. Mestre João Kanoa is mestre who is blind
and teaches kids, here is the link.

I actually didnt know he was blind until I was half-way through the video.

We are doing another promotion for the school for the rest of this month and the
Month of April.
For every person you refer that signs up with us, you make $50.00 cash on the

We have brand new beautiful flyers now also.
You already know capoeira is great, all you have to do is just share that with
others!
There is no limit to how many people you can bring in. If you bring in 2
people, kids or adults, you get $100, bring in 10 people you get $500!! Whoever
brings in the most new students at the end of April will get a new pandeiro!!
Lets see who wins!
PS this promotion goes for both students and parents
Axe'!
As everyone knows, we have the Atlanta Maculele Batizado this weekend.
Class will be cancelled for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for both kids and
adults. Cuica will be scheduling make up classes for the kids. Adults that are
not going to Atlanta, there is a great Capoeira event hosted by Profesora
Tigresa of Grupo Males. I will be putting up a poster with the event details
today. Let me know if anyone has any questions!

Thanks to everyone that came out to help with the festival!
Police estimated that there were 65,000 people in attendance. This was great
exposure not only for capoeira but for Grupo Maculele!!
Pics and video to come!
This one is about Waldemar but I think its the one you are thinking of...
Ha Waldemar da Paixão
por que você foi-se embora?
Seu canto só deixa saudades
Até hoje meu berimbau chora.
Seu encanta um jogo,
Seu tocar faz um cabra bailar.
É a lenda da liberdade,
É o famoso Mestre Waldemar.
Coro
Se um dia olhar pro céu
E vê tudo escurecer,
É o canto da Waldemar
Que lá de cima louva por você.
Coro
Na arte de pintar foi doutor
Dando a vida ao berimbau,
Enriquecendo a nossa arte
Waldemar mestre fenomenal.
Coro
No seu jeito de jogar mansinho,
Barulho nunca de arrumar.
Se na roda tinham valentões,
Waldemar tinham que respeitar.

It was great to see you all this past weekend at the batizado. It reminded us of how much we miss training in Miami. There is a song that I am trying to find the lyrics for. The only words that I could make out were something about Mestre Pastinha and berimbau chora. I know this isn't a lot of info but if anyone knows this song let me know. Thanks

everyone to make an extra effort to be there. Not only will it be a
lot of fun, but this is a great chance for you to let me know any
ideas you might have for Mundial. We will also be going over some
fund raising ideas so that you can get a reduced price or even free
pass to the event.
We will be practicing capoeira in the morning with mestre Azulao.

2pm we will start the Mundial meeting and open discussion
The meeting will be brief!!!

With Batizado coming up in March, we have a lot to do to get our
capoeira ready.
With the exception of this past week or so, everyone has been training
hard. I'm very proud of everyone's progress. I'll be talking with
each of the adults individually and Cuica will be talking with the
kids and parents as to where everyone stands as far as promotions go.
Right away I can say that of those that are borderline between cords,
the difference will be mostly music. I know with a lot of practice
over the next month and a half, we can bring you up!
See you at roda!
This Sunday we will have an open roda in front of Beef O Brady's in
the Hammocks at 3pm. After roda, or during for friends and family, we
go inside and eat. Beef O Brady's then donates to %15 of everything
spent there for that time. So invite your family and invite your friends!
See you there!
