Re. USAT - I've sent in the registration to enroll M2T2 in USAT. If
you sent me your info, you're on the list. If not, I can add you
later. We should show up on their website in 3-4 weeks. USAT Club
info can be found at
http://www.usatriathlon.org/Clubs_Regions/clubs.htm.
Re. 2005 - Now is the time to start thinking about setting up your
2005 triathlon schedule. Many California Tris fill up quickly.
Register early, like in the next few months if you can, for the
popular events at least. Kendra posted about Escape From Alcatraz,
in June, which is one of the more famous and popular events. Other
Olympics relatively nearby are Wildflower (Monterey County) in Apr,
the San Jose Intl in Jun, Monterey Bay (Santa Cruz) in July, and of
course the Pacific Grove in Sep. Sprints include Monterey Bay and
PG above, as well as the San Jose MTB in Jun (I did the mtb this
year, very kewl) and the Sandman (Santa Cruz) in Aug. For those
planning on a Half, check out Wildflower in April, the Vineman (wine
country) in Jul, and the Big Kahuna (Santa Cruz) and CaliMan
(Folsom, a bit farther, but a big event) in Sep. All the Half-Iron
events have full irons except Kahuna. There are many more events,
especially in San Francisco, these are just the ones that interested
me. Don't forget the Big Sur Marathon in Apr.
Re. M2T2 - What is the status of the club? The initial enthusiasm
by some in the Jul-Aug timeframe has dried up big time. I will
continue to do little things here and there to keep the club on at
least life support, until such time as enough interest is generated
to move forward. I think/hope the beginning of the 2005 triathlon
season in a few months may spur a weekly training session or two,
and we can go from there. Until then, tri on...
