Hello All - I recently took over M2T2 Yahoo! Group Ownership. This
doesn't mean I'm "in charge" of M2T2 - quite the contrary! I only
volunteered to take over the yahoo admin stuff. Others such as the two
Mikes, Adrian, Kendra, Jacqueline, and Bill appear to be setting the
wheels in motion for the comeback of M2T2.
Anyway, my first priority was to stop the spam that has been hitting the
site. To do this, posting to the group and searching message archives
are now "member only." I also deleted about 30 spam messages from the
boards. If you know someone that should be a member but isn't, please
tell them them to join, if for no other reason that to keep up with the
group posts. I have sent out invites to a bunch of folks, and hopefully
we can use the group list to coordinate future meetings/bricks/whatever
instead of personal emails that don't reach everyone.
Of note, I've set "reply to all members" as the default for replying to
group posts. Previously, replies were only sent to the original poster,
but info of use to the whole group was not getting through. You
obvioulsy can still send private replies if you wish.
I also want to enroll M2T2 in USAT. This only costs $10 per year for
the entire group ($8 each additional year), but saves us each $3 on our
annual USAT and roughly $25 each on some triathlons such as the CaliMan
Half next year. I'll take care of the admin for that. I'll post later
how I'll compile the membership list, but if anyone has a fairly
up-to-date list, please let me know (I think Kendra's DeSoto list is a
good place to start). Who should I see about getting a check - I know
there is an M2T2 checking account somewhere.
I had M2T2 added to the TriCal database, so if you sign up for any of
their Tris (PG, Wildflower, etc.), select M2T2 as your club from the
pulldown menu. They keep track of this, and give the club a check if we
get a bunch of entries.
Maybe after we get all this admin stuff nailed down, we can actually do
some bricks or something! I know the idea of a monthly du on Ord was
bantered about - any word on that?
Thanks! Ed
