Rich,

Correct, Wing Chun is one of the few forms I know that is based
around the human body rather than trying to emulate the movements of
another creature.

When performed correctly Wing Chun is blisteringly fast (look to
deliver between 4 - 6 strikes per sec). Only problem is that if not
trained correctly, these techniques can suffer by loss of form,
making them inefficient.

Best advice is to start slow and build up the speed.

And ..........

Never stop training the basics no matter where you may be on the Wing
Chun tree!
