Top players cover miles of pitch in 90 minutes with few recovery
breaks. They must posses a broader range of fitness than almost any
other athlete. Fitness is so important in these players that a proper
conditioning program can more than make up for a lack of "natural
talent".
As for young players... most coaches shy away from soccer conditioning
for fear it will cause injury and hamper skill development. On the
contrary... a well-planned soccer fitness plan that meets the unique
needs of children and youths is the best way to prevent injury. Not
only that...
Helping youngsters to build all-round athleticism in the formative
years, gives them the very best chance of reaching their full potential
later in life.
