How many times have you been running around Big Rock Park and almost
gotten run over by a car on that narrow road? A group of concerned
neighborhood citizens, runners and cyclist's are attempting to get the
loop around Big Rock changed to a one way with a jogging/walking/
biking lane similar to the Scenic Loop. Now is the time for action.
Below is information regarding the upcoming meeting to propose this
and an email to send you support of the Big Rock Loop.

We received this e-mail confirming the Planning Commission meeting on
Thursday, Dec. 1 at 5:30 pm to approve the Highlands Douglass
Neighborhood Plan. The meeting will be held at the courtroom of the
Old Jail Building, 514 W. Liberty Street. The neighborhood plan's
recommendation to study the feasibility of a one-way Big Rock
pedestrian loop was removed by Planning and Design after public
meetings were disrupted by unruly protesters against the study. At
this Dec. 1 meeting, supporters of studying the feasibility of a Big
Rock pedestrian loop can speak up and ask the Planning Commission to
put the deleted recommendation back into the plan before it's sent on
to Metro Council. Come to the meeting! Please forward this e-mail on
to your mailing lists of interested citizens. Now is the time to speak
up and let our voices be heard. Please notify us by Friday, December
11 if you would like to help develop a presentation to the Planning
Commission in support of the study. Come to the meeting! Thanks. Gary
Heine, 802-9803, Highlands Douglass Neighborhood Plan Task Force
member, Mobility subcommittee

Dear Highlands-Douglass Task Force members, We are writing to let you
know that a public hearing date has been set for the Highlands-
Douglass Neighborhood Plan. The Louisville Metro Planning Commission

Amendments to the Cornerstone 2020 Comprehensive Plan on December 1st,
5:30 PM at the courtroom of the Old Jail Building, 514 W. Liberty
Street. The Planning Commission will make a recommendation regarding
the plan's adoption to Metro Council. In the meantime, the draft plan
can be viewed at the following web site: here. In the coming days,
there will minor edits made to the draft and any changes will be
reflected in an updated version of the draft plan online. In addition,
in the days prior to the hearing, Planning and Design Staff will be
preparing a staff report and will have this report posted on the
website for viewing.

Nick, Have you heard anything about a Christmas day run this year? Have done it the past two and would be interested in it again this year. Thanks. Muffin...
