Louisville Hash #46 - 3/12/11 @ 3pm - Hikes Point Bar & Lounge 3937 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, KY

Another great dive bar from my youth! Come on out for a nice romp through the timeless Hikes Point Area.
I'll keep it mostly on the road so we don't loose anyone in the general ooze.
$5, a whistle, and a sense of humor is all you need to hash! -Kotex 502.418.3818

OK, there is a Bats game at 2:05 pm, so you will not be able to park in the lot......
So,...I suggest parking on either Main or Market just East of the interstate between (or on) Clay and Shelby
Main is one way West, and Market is one way East. Walk back to the start.

It's on a hill at the NE corner of the intersection of Hwy 329 & I-71.

direct you about 3/4 mile north of it on Hwy 329 to a Starbucks.

On After:
Rumballs at 10000 US Highway 22, about 4 miles from the start

attend if you want to have some fun.

The same information will be up on the LAGERS website later today!

Altec Brewoff for the Pro-Am at the GABF!

The Brewoff is THIS Saturday, May 14 in the brewery lot (104 Cross St)
from 8am to 5 or 6. People show up early! The brewery provides water
(190F!) and yeast. Brewers must use the house yeast. It is a clean,
highly attenuative English strain very similar to Danstar Nottingham.
Any style but no spice/herb/veg/rye. Wheat should not be more than
20%.  They will want a 6pack for judging in around 5 weeks so brewers
should keep quick maturation in mind if they want to do well.

If you are planning on brewing, please send me an email so I can let
them know you are coming!  Leah: brewgal@...

Remember, the winner of this competition will have their recipe brewed
and entered into the Pro-Am Competition at the Great American Beer
Festival in Colorado this fall! I'm sure they will have the same beer
available around town like in years past. I want a LAGER member to
Win!!

Keg Liquors:  Fest of Ale Tickets!

Todd Antz is nice enough to come to our meeting on Monday 5/16 to sell
discounted tickets for this 6th annual event that benefits the Crusade
for Children.  Tickets for LAGERS and FOSSILS are $20, which is $10
off the day of
the event pricing:

CONTACT: TODD ANTZ (812) 283-3988 or events@...

CLARKSVILLE, INDIANA-Some folks enjoy their beer so much that they'd
gladly take a trip around the world to sample the wares. But if time
and money are a little tight right now, the Keg Liquors Fest of Ale
will condense the experience into one spring afternoon - and for a
good cause, to boot.

******* We should go!**************

The 6th annual Fest rolls around on Saturday, June 4, from 3-7 p.m.
For the third year, it's on tap for St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 320
N. Sherwood Ave., Clarksville, Ind.

More than 40 breweries and three craft brew distributors will serve
samples of more than 150 craft and import beers, and five fine wine
distributors will serve wine samples. The St. Anthony's Men's Club
will cook up hamburgers, hot dogs, brats and the like, and there'll be
live music and a silent auction.

The overall atmosphere is fun and relaxed - participants are invited
to bring a lawn chair and kick back for a few hours.

And Fest of Ale is a fundraiser for the WHAS Crusade for Children.
Last year the event raised more than $5600. "We are looking to top
that number this year," says Todd Antz, who owns Keg Liquors.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the event. They're
available now at Keg Liquors, 617 E. Lewis & Clark Pkwy., Clarksville;
New Albanian Brewing Company; 3312 Plaza Drive, New Albany; BBC
Taproom, 636 E. Main St., Louisville; or online at
http://www.kegliquors.com/fest_of_ale.html.

The Fest is scheduled rain-or-shine. Current plans call for it to be
held outdoors under a tent, as it was last year, but it can move
inside in the event of inclement weather.

For a list of participating breweries, go to
http://www.kegliquors.com/fest_participant.html. This list is still
growing as the festival approaches. For other information, go to
http://www.kegliquors.com/fest_of_ale.html, or contact Todd Antz.

Several of you have been asking for it, and here it is: THE INTRAHASH REGO
IS LIVE at www.indyhhh.com!

*IMPORTANT:* We are trying out a new pricing structure for INtrahash this
year. If you take advantage of it, the early bird pricing is actually
cheaper than it was last year (and stays cheaper for longer)! The weekend
Intrahash price starts at $35, and goes up $2 every week. The Saturday Only
price starts at $30, and increases $2 each week as well.

*The first price increase is MONDAY (as in, in FOUR DAYS), so register EARLY
for the best price! *

*ALSO IMPORTANT:* In order to encourage the use of Paypal, and make it
easier for everyone to take advantage of the new pricing structure, the hash
will ALSO be paying all Paypal fees for you. Therefore, you get the same
price, whether you pay via Paypal or pay in person. (As a matter of fact,
if you wait until the next hash, you may have to pay more if you miss a
cutoff date!)

*FINALLY:* Please note that the price you pay is dependent on the date of
PAYMENT, NOT on the date you register online. If you register online and
wait until July 22 to pay, you will pay the full price. So do yourself a
favor: pay via PayPal and get it over with!!!

On-on to INtrahash!
Cooch

Louisville Hash #52 - Waverly Park Rapture Hash- Sat 5/21/11 @ 3 PM

Waverly Park is on the SW side of Louisville between the Watterson (I264) and the Snyder (I265/841) just off of Dixie Hwy (31W/60). Go 3 miles south of I264 or 4 miles north of 841 on Dixie Hwy (31W/60) and turn east on St Andrews Church Rd (1931). Go about 1 mile and turn right on Arnoldtown Rd. Go about 1 mile and turn right into the park. Go to the end of the road and park. Prepare to hash! I would highly recommend shiggy gear if this park is anything like the JMF terrain we hashed last time. A whistle, $5, and a trusty pair of shiggy shoes will get you going. An extra pair of shoes and a change of cloths for the on-after will finish you off.

This park is a shared hiking & mountain bike park. I plan on keeping us mostly off the beaten path, but we should try to keep from becoming trail kill!

Park Entrance: 4800 Waverly Park Rd., 40214

Your friendly neighborhood Snatchsquatch here to remind everybody that this is the final weekend available for you to register for the 7th Annual Memorial Day Hash for the super-low price of just $35! You can register online at www.chicagohash.com and skip the annoying Paypal fee. You heard correctly, we're waving the Paypal fee on this one. But don't wait too long, I know everyone likes to do things at the last minute, but if you're anything like me, Monday is a drinking day and that means that the beer will be flowing, and once the beer gets flowing your memory is going to become fuzzy and you're going to forget to rego. DON'T WAIT, DO IT TODAY!

Need more convincing? How about the fact that for little more than the cost of an evening drink package at some crappy bar, you can get an entire day's worth of hashing and a swank Dry-Fit T-Shirt to go with it! On top of that we're going to have a truly amazing trail set by some of the most experienced hares in Chicago (Smell This will be haring too) and there will be multiple beer stops for you to rest your legs, get your drink on, and play some fun games! A little bird (no bigger than a turd) told me that we've got multiple kegs of beer from two of your favorite Chicago breweries, Goose Island and Metropolitan. And finally, we'll have the On-In at the historic DANK-Haus in Lincoln Square with a circle run by (the recently unretired) Calvin Klein and Beer Spill Valdez and food provided by Robinson! How much fun does that sound like? Certainly a lot more than $35 worth of fun, I can tell you that!

So register today. No, wait, scratch that, register right now at www.chicagohash.com and join us at this year's Memorial Day hash.

What's that up in the sky? A bird? A plane? No, its the 11th Annual "Super" Power of the Pussy Hash! Come join the Chicago Hash House Harriers on July 8th, 9th, and 10th as we hand the keys to the kingdom over to the ladies of PoP once again!

In keeping with this year's theme of super heroes, attendees are not only allowed but encouraged to dress as their "alter ego" and join us on the night of July 8th for our pre-lube at Joe's on Weeds (940 W. Weed). The ladies have reserved our own section of their patio and we'll be able to enjoy drinks from 8-11PM for only $20.

On Saturday, July 9th, the main event will take place just around the corner at Sully's (1501 N. Dayton) at 3PM (on-out at 3:30PM) - the ladies have promised that for the low-low price of $45 (through June 23rd) a wonderfully shitty trail through Chicago that will showcase our wonderful "urban shiggy" and will include multiple beer stop that have different themed games and challenges waiting for you! Once you complete trail we'll return back to the bar where we'll have an entire floor and deck to ourselves, ensuring that no civilians bother us as we partake in a summer BBQ buffet and multiple kegs of beer on what promises to be a lovely summer's day (or so the RAs have told me). And, if you register before June 23rd you'll receive a beautiful tech shirt with your rego price as well.

Sunday, July 10th will see us reconvene at the DFL Haus (2208 W. Diversey) where Chicago Hash GM Snatchsquatch and GM Emeritus Fistful of Pricks have graciously offered to let the hash completely destroy their roofdeck! Your traditional Chicago Hash Cash of $8 will get you a doubly shitty trail and an ice cold keg(s) of beer starting at around noon (depending on how hung over the hares are, and whether or not R Tard E lets you into the DFL Haus while the hares are out laying trail).

More information, along with both the online and traditional rego form can be found at www.chicagohash.com!

Louisville Hash #54 - City Limits Hash - Sat 6/18/11 @ 3:00 PM
Your lovely hares: Knee Deep and Bob Loblaw
The start is at the City Limits Bar & Grill - 2858 Hwy 44E in Shepherdsville
Just a short 8 miles south of the Snyder on I-65!
From Louisville, take 65 South and exit 117 (Hwy 44E) towards Mount Washington.
The bar will be a couple miles down on the left.
I think maybe we'll get some Knox peeps up since it's not TOO far away! -K

All you need are a used pair of running shoes, a whistle, and a sense of humor!
Trails usually are 3 to 5 miles, but the way the trail works you won't be
running the whole time. Come out and have fun!

All,

I was planning on laying the 3rd or 4th Sundays hash this week, but I will be out of town on business. Bummer. I think it is too late to round up a replacement hare and get all of the details posted, so I think the best course of action is to cancel the trail. Since Ft Knox is contemplating starting a hump day hash, and many of the hashers I was trying to attract with a Sunday hash do not attend, I think we should drop the Sunday hash from now on. If anyone has strong objections to this plan (aka really wants to hare the Sunday hashes) please speak up now or forever hold your junk.

See you on trail 7/2,
Kotex

Louisville Hash #56 - Knee Deep in Otter Creek! - 7/16/11 @ 3pm - Otter Creek Park

Otter Creek is a "to die for" hash area. It will cost $3 to enter the park, but well worth it! Our Hares Knee Deep and Bob Loblaw promise a hash free of KOA Security! Come on out for a great shiggy filled trail that lets you know why the Mighty Ohio turned West! Take the Gene Snyder (I-265) to Dixie Hwy (US-31W) and go south ~13 mi to KY-1638 in Muldraugh and head west towards Brandenburg  ~2.7 mi for the park main gate.

We’ll be starting at the Pine Grove Pavilion in Otter Creek Park. Once you enter the park main gate (and pay your $3) you’ll follow the main road approx. 1.4 miles then turn right on Lick Skillet Rd (there will be a sign that says “Blue Hole, Pine Grove, Cedar Hill”, follow it). Pine Grove Pavilion is about a half a mile down Lick Skillet Rd on the right. According to Google Earth, it’s at 37°56'14.89"N, 86° 2'24.35"W.

There is a BBQ at the pavilion, so we’ll bring some burgers & extra beverages if anyone wants to ononon there. If you don’t like red meat, bring whatever you like!  -KD & BBB
