T.R.A.I.L. has been spearheading a great project which is a +25 mile
trail ("Atackapas- Ishack Trail") that runs along the Vermilion River
and Ruth Canal and connects the downtown areas of Breaux Bridge,
Lafayette and St. Martinville. The pieces are coming together and
hopefully we will break ground this year. This biking, walking and
running trail will be a 12ft wide predominantly asphalt path that is
far removed from high traffic roads. It will be a truly exceptional
trail that brings you into some of the most beautiful nature areas in
S. Louisiana, e.g. Lake Martin.
