In the past several weeks I have been sending out information about the 1st Annual Volleyball Recruiting Showcase to be held June 15th at the University of West Florida Gym. The Showcase is a great way for prospects fron the grauating years of 2003-2005 who wish to continue playing their sport in college to gain exposure by performing various drills and scrimmaging in front of college coach's from throughout the Southeast. The list of colleges who will be in attendance includes Auburn, South Florida, Alabama-Birmingham, South Alabama, Troy State, Southern Mississippi, St. Leo, West Georgia, Montevallo, Tampa, West Alabama, Huntington, West Florida, Florida Memorial, Northwest Shoals CC ,Faulkner State CC and Pensacola Junior College. The Showcase will be run under the direction of Chris Laird, West Florida Storm Elite club coach and a former coach at the Division l college level. I am also pleased to announce that Matt Darling the assistant coach at Auburn University has also agreed to work the Showcase also.
Please pass on this information to any volleyball prospects or parents you know so they might also have an opportunity to attend. There is no doubt this Showcase will be to certainly help enhance their exposure to colleges. It is essential to have interested players return the completed form ASAP as all prospect information is to be included in a booklet that each college will be given and I'm hoping to start on those Prospect Booklets by June 1st.
