The Eastside Volleyball Club, based in East Peoria,
IL. will be holding the 3rd Annual Pepsi Cola Girls

of Lights. The 2-day event will be held in its
entirety at Eastside Centre; #1 Eastside Drive; East
Peoria, IL. 61611. The format for the event will be as
it was last year with a 2 hour practice session for
each team on Saturday, December 1, and the Classic
Event on Sunday, December 2. We are pleased to report
that we will have 200+ of the better High School
Senior Athletes from Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, &
Kansas showcasing their talents at this event. We are
in the final stages of the scheduling of the event and
setting the rosters and they can be found on our
website in Adobe/PDF format at www.eastsidevb.com or
we can fax to those that do not have access. In order
for players to be allowed to participate in the IHSA
Sanctioned event, they were nominated by a coach from
either their school, another school, or club. On
behalf of the players, we thank the coaches very much
for taking the time and energies to nominate their
players, and also thank the coaches from
throughout the state of Illinois that have taken the
time from their busy schedules to volunteer and coach
at this event. Some of the finest coaching talents
will be used for the event.

We are also extremely proud to announce that the event
is being sponsored by Central Illinois Volleyball
Association, Pepsi Cola, Adidas, Mikasa, and United
States Professional Volleyball (USPV) as it was last
year. The USPV will have 4 of their Professional

Adidas and Pepsi Cola will outfit the players and
coaches, and Mikasa will provide the balls and carts
for the events. The Central Illinois Volleyball
Association will provide manpower and tournament
directors for scoring, officiating, and basically
running the event.

The purpose of the Classic is to bring positive
closure to the spectacular careers of these young
ladies whether they are playing at the collegiate
level or not and from feedback we received, last years
event was an invaluable tool for coaches and
recruiters. For your help and assistance, we will
denote the players that have already committed, which
is a very minimal number. We will also be compiling a
lengthy recruiting packet (30+ pages), as was compiled
last year that will be distributed to the coaches at
the event free of charge. If a coach is unable to
attend we are pleased to report
that we have an underwriter that is helping provide
the expense of us printing and sending out the
packets.

Also, we will be compiling a packet of information
etc. for each of the players to give them when they
pick up uniforms prior to their practice on December
1, 2001. Any information about your program and/or
institution that you would like to have included into
these packets must be received by November 25, 2001.
Please send all of this information to Eastside VBC;
1621 Highview Road; East Peoria, IL. 61611.

We are also asking RSVP commitments of coaches and
recruiters that plan on attending so we can compile a
pass list and have enough packets printed, so please
acknowledge if you will be attending and the names of
your associates that will be attending. For your
housing needs, please check the link on our website
for establishments close to Eastside Sports Centre.

For housing needs and information of the Annual
Festival of Lights, please contact (800) 365-3743 and
talk with Norma Joseph. The Festival of Lights has
been going on for 20+ years and is an event you will
not want to miss while attending the Classic.

If you should need any further information, or have
questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at
(309) 699-8738, or respond to email at
Eastside_vbc@....

Best Regards,

Tim Vande Schraaf, President
