Website*<br><br>From the Moment Davey Allison climbed into a Winston
Cup race car, it was clear he was someone special. He
became the first rookie to sit on the front row for the
Daytona 500 (1987) in over 10 years.<br><br>He won two
superspeedway races as a freshman driver and he won 10 times
over the course of the 1991 and 1992 seasons, narrowly
missing the<br>NASCAR Winston Cup title both years.
<br><br>He had boundless talent, unwavering
determination,<br>and a charm that allowed him to excel in life, both
on and off the race track.<br><br>Between March of
1991 and July 1993, Davey Allison, team owner Robert
Yates and the rest of the Robert Yates Racing team won
11 regular season Winston Cup races ( including the
1992 Daytona 500 ), five pole positions and two "The
WINSTON"<br>all-star races - a record of excellence that may be
matched but not forgotten.<br><br>A member of the Ford
Racing family since 1987 - <br>all of his Winston Cup
wins came in Fords. <br><br>Davey was a champion both
