Newman hoping for a first at Charlotte
Newman set a track qualifying record Thursday night. (AP) Ryan Newman will
start from the pole for Saturday's UAW-GM Quality 500 and will be looking for
his first career Charlotte win. He needs all the points he can get, as he enters
Saturday’s race eighth in the Chase for the Nextel Cup standings, 232 points
behind leader Kurt Busch.
