This was not a normal farewell but I think Swim Coach Randy had a bashful, happy embarrassing time of his life in Singapore!
He was expecting the usual sit down lunch, some decent chit chat with a bunch of JoyRiders but little did he know that once he stood up from his chair after his lunch, it was just the beginning of some unexpected expectations from him. A 'tearful' speech from him and lucky he brought a guest, Josh to help disperse some of the attention away from him.
Kiwi Coach Blackie came to Randy's rescue too by giving the Tour of Egat riders some tips on hydration, gearing and other stuff. Moments later, suddenly the restaurant band and dancers made an announcement about Randy's farewell and dancing was all around the restaurant. But they failed to get Randy out of his chair for a farewell 'jambalaya'.
Then a little muffin cake was passed on to him and we had to sing for him to let him know... how happy we are to see him go! (err...now that we have Josh to replace him. Hopefully, Josh will be moving here in August!)
After this, Blackie took control back and continued with his 'talk' about mental power. We are all going for experiences and completing the race will be a bonus! Next year, we will be more prepared and Blackie hopes to participate too! Thank you again to German Christina, Lufthansa Patrick, Soul Bro Sean, Wan 'ton', Conman Pascal, Pilate Michel, Bernard the Mersing Train, Steel Man Masa, Colgate Hal, Korean Star Weiyuet and Char-parti Murli for ra! cing under JoyRiders banner!
Thank you to Adrian Mok for his 'power' deal and to Sean for his 'soul' (sole) support! Anyway, I still don't know why am I going to Thailand this weekend! Now enjoy those photos!http://picasaweb.google.com/joycemjgriffin/May1stTourOfEgatRidersFarewellForRandy
