Hi there
I have found some team shirts from Rooster Andrews; they are light weight,
royal blue soccer jerseys with a white collar (no buttons) and white cuffs
on the sleeves. My thought was to have 2-tone numbers put on (red
background/white foreground) and the words LONE STAR printed across the
back, above the number, in white. The shirts come in red, too; my thought
was that the club order three sets of blue shirts and one set of red shirts
(in case we have two teams playing in one division); these will be the
club's shirts, like we've had in the past. Members may want to own the
blue shirts for themselves, however, in the size they want. The shirts
will cost $20 each after the numbers and lettering, which is a very good
deal. At this price, members can buy/order a #1, #2, #3 for themselves and
be set. This is what we have talked about for the last 2 years, but we
haven't been able to find shirts affordable enough to have members buy
three of them. We also talked about doing velcro numbers and I
investigated this thoroughly and found that it was going to be a more
expensive ordeal per shirt (almost $10 more) plus, members would own the
numbers, which would be about $10 each.
Anyway, for those members that don't want to own a shirt, they can borrow
the club's shirts as we've done before, but there is no guarantee what size
will be available. The more people that own their own shirts, the less
hassle for the club to try to keep track of them.
Kiki found another shirt from Cintas that is Navy and Royal and if we put
red and white numbers on them, it might look pretty cool (the shirts are in
the same price rance) but we're not yet sure on availability for the
future, etc; Kiki is looking into that.
In the meantime, the Rooster Andrews shirts will be available for years and
I have a med, large and x-large for folks to try on. The problem is
getting together with everyone to try them on! I wear a med, Paul wears a
large (he's lost 20 pounds!) and Daniel wears a Large. These are tighter
fitting shirts. They look neat.
They have them in youth sizes, too, so we can order a set of red and a set
of blue for the juniors (they don't have white). They run small enough,
though that our juniors may fit into smalls....
Sorry to run on...let me know your thoughts; I am hoping to place an order
by March 10th. If I don't hear from you, I won't yet order you a set of
three shirts, and you can use club shirts until you decide.
Thank you for your input
