Hi All,
Another go at posting this. The last post was not received complete.
Cheers,

Date: Mon, 24 Jan 2005 00:40:44 -0000 From: <Admin on another Yahoo list> Subject: ADMIN: Yahoo's tracking system Yahoo is now using something called "Web Beacons" to track Yahoo group users around the net and see what you're doing and where you are going - similar to cookies. Yahoo is recording every website and every group you visit. It's complicated to opt out, so you might need to write down these instructions or open another window. I'm pretty computer savy and it confused me. If you would like to opt out of their tracking system, here's how to do it: Go here: http://privacy.yahoo.com/privacy or http://privacy.yahoo.com/privacy/us/beacons/details.html In the column on the left side, under the title of "Special Topics", click "cookies". At the bottom of this new page you will see a link that says "Click here." Click that. On that new page click the phrase "web beacon". That will bring you to a paragraph entitled "Outside the Yahoo Network." In this section you'll see a little "click here to opt out" link. Click it. Then STOP. Yes, STOP. It's important that you stop there. What would normally be a confirmation button on the next page will opt you back in. You might pass the link on to other Yahoo groups you're a member of. <><><> Karen Snow Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it. -Mark Twain, author and humorist (1835-1910) -------------------------------------------------------------------- | |||
