Hello Good People,

It's summer League Cup FInal this week on Thursday 13th August. The game is
being played under floodlights on Tooting Bec Common near Balham tube and
we'd love to see as many of you as possible down there.

More info on directions here -

The general programme runs like this and we hope it will provide a good
amount of amusement for all.

7 - 8: Mini hat tournament for anyone who wishes to play. Just turn up with
your kit (bring light and dark) and we'll stick you in a team. The format
will be aimed at having fun and playing with and against new people. It's
mainly meant to be for the players of the London Summer League but we will
welcome all.

Please arrive at 7ish to put your name in the hat. We aim to start playing
at 7:15. The format will be simple and a bit rough and depends a bit on
numbers. We will play 3-a-side, make-it-take-it with teams of 4 and
constantly rolling "tag-substitutes". I.e. player going off must tag their
replacement on a sideline of the pitch before new player can enter the
pitch.

8 - 9.30: London Summer League Cup Final. Herd Cocktail XX are looking to
take the Summer League double after having won the league with some storming
play and violent cocktails. Flaming Galahs are looking to stop this
happening, mainly because they can't bear how smug Roger will be, but also
because they have never really won anything, ever before. It should be a
really exciting game and with floodlights and a boisterous crowd, I expect
it should be a lot of fun. Come down, enjoy the spectacle and heckle Herd
Cocktail XX please. (I may be biased...)

10 - 12: Party at The Bedford. Here we will do some quick presentations of
trophies and then it'll be a good, old fashioned knees up with Kenee and
myself on the decks and sambuca aplenty. We've got prizes for all sorts of
things so make sure your team are represented if you want to collect your
spoils! If not I'll drink it.

Map here.

We've done our best to make Summer League run as smoothly as possible this
year. We'd really love to celebrate the final game with you and to cap off a
fun season in style. Let me know if you need any more information and feel
free to send me any feedback you might have on the league. If you tell me on
Thursday night, I may not remember it so e mail it to me if possible!!!

Quick plea for manual help (in return for some cider/gratitude/etc). We
need to man-handle 3 floodlight trailers from the road onto the pitch. It
would be really great to have a few extra bodies to help with this if anyone
is able to get down to the fields a bit early (any time from around 5-30pm
really).

Thanks for your involvement and we look forward to seeing you out on
Thursday night.

Dan.

On behalf of Summer League Committee.
