Re: [londonleague] [Fwd: [abhultimate] Warning - Glass on the Pitch]

Thanks for the heads up!

We'll let the council know immediately but safe to assume they won't get to
it before tonight's games. With 4 games taking place, we have no spare pitch
so I will need the captains to check the pitch and work out if it is safe.
If it is not safe then please do not play on the pitch. Relocate to an area
that is safe and I will compensate you for your troubles.

May I direct you all to section 27 of the info pack! (My life is empty...)

http://londonultimate.com/summerleague/lsl_info_pack_2009.pdf

"Team captains, in particular, and players in general should take a moment
before playing to check the pitch.
We're playing in open parks and we cannot expect to control what happens to
them day to day. If the captains
have any concerns they should agree to adapt the pitch in some way, or if
necessary not play. Not playing is
much better than someone getting injured. You should understand what is safe
and by playing you're accepting
the condition of the pitches where you're playing. Ultimate is non-refereed,
so really the only people who can
make a decision to call off a game are the captains and players."

Stuff like this is essential before you play, so please do check the pitches
before EACH game.

On a tangent, I have noticed a lot of teams are now training at Balham. This
is understandable because of the lined pitches but if possible, could you
try and rotate the pitch you are using, drill off the pitches and so on. The
pitches seem to be suffering a touch from the extra use this year of touch
rubgy, more frisbee and so on. Be nice to keep them in good nick with the
summer coming. Your help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Dan.
