Sorry for such late notice of the plans for LWL 2008-9 - we've been
trying to resolve some questions about fields, etc.

More details below - but the key points are:
1. Check the dates and plans below - there are a few changes from last year.
2. Email si.hill@... to enter (with details of which
event). We will treat this as a commitment to enter and pay!
3. Don't pay your entry fee into last year's bank account (yet) as we
hope to have a new one for you!

More details:

Unfortunately we are only able to get access to about 6-7 fields at
Wimbledon this winter. Consequently we've decided to try a different
approach for this year. We're pretty much committed to this approach
for 08-9, but obviously it would be great to get some feedback for the
future.

We're going to need to split the Mixed and Open divisions up. Having
had a careful look at the calendar we decided to do some splitting by
date, and some by location - so here are the dates:

MIXED:
Sun 16 Nov
Sun 14 Dec
Sun 11 Jan*
Sun 8 Feb

OPEN:
Sun 7 Dec
Sun 11 Jan*
Sun 15 Feb

* One of the divisions will be at another venue which is to be confirmed.
We are also planning to put on a finals day on the weekend of 14/15
March (probably not at Wimbledon).

All the events will be at Wimbledon at the usual sort of times. Precise
start times will be announced with the schedules as we go along. We are
intending to use the usual sort of formats: 4 games of approx 1 hour at
each event.

We are also looking to formalise the way the London leagues are
organised, and so hope to have a new bank account for you to pay into.
Roger is going to send another email about this soon.

Prices will be same as last year.
£200 to enter all four mixed
£150 to enter all three open
or
£60 per event if you want to enter as you go along.

If we are heavily over-subscribed the committee will use a mixture of
first-come first-served, plus reliability and level of entry in the
past, and possibly proximity to London to decide places. We'll also go
out and look for more fields and try to get space for everyone!
