Summer League - official entry details   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1467 of 1825 |
Our pitches have been confirmed this morning, which means we can at
last officially accept entries for summer league.

The entry deadline is this Thursday 29th May! We are starting games
next week, on Wednesday June 6th. So get your skates on.

Lots of teams "pre-registered" in the last couple of weeks, and I
expect all those teams to send in official entries. So if you didn't
email me with your intention to enter summer league, move fast as
there are only a few spots left. The league is restricted to 24
teams. I wish it could be more, but due to scheduling and pitch
availability (it's complicated), unless there's a giant surge of
entries from teams I don't know about, that's where we have to draw
the line.

Full details about this years summer league are in the new 2007 Info
Pack, which is now downloadable from the summer league website. You
must take a look at this if you've never played summer league before.

To officially enter your team, email me with the following details:

1 - Team Name

2 - Your team contact's details:
* Name
* Postal address
* Email address
* Mobile number
* Home telephone number
* Daytime work number (if possible)

(phone numbers are only for the benefit of other team contacts and
will not be published on the website.)

3 - Choice of home ground, either Clissold Park or Balham. This is
where you'd like to play most of your games. Bear in mind you will
always have a few games at the other venue.

You may have a game on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday night
(although Tuesdays are looking unlikely now)

4 - Are there any of these three days that your team definitely can't
play?

5 - Is there a particular day that you would prefer to play? (Wed or
Thur - Tue isn't really on the table...)

I have to try and seed all the teams as accurately as I can. So I
need to know:

6 - What standard would you say your team is? Either...
* Novice - mostly beginners
* Fairly new - a year's experience here and there
* Experienced - have been playing tournaments for a couple of years
* Very experienced - most of the team have been playing for four
years or more
* Superstar - a good number of top-team or GB players, in the running
to win it

7 - Please give me an idea of the make-up of your team. Some teams
have a mixture of very experienced and very new players. Others are
all novices. Others are all experienced. What's yours like? Any big
names on the team?

The team fee this year is £225. To speed up the entry, I'm not asking
for your money just yet, but I'm trusting you all to cough up very
soon. We have to pay in advance for these pitches, and we're talking
about thousands of pounds.

So, get emailing me. More updates soon.

Thanks

Paul
