Not sure why, but this doesn't appear to have made it through the first
time!
Note, this info has been on the London Ultimate Forum for a couple of days.

FAO: Niall Sayers & Olly Gray - my humble apologies!

Subject: LWL Matchday 3 - Sunday 14 January 2007 - useful info

The schedules have been finalised, and uploaded to the [lwl-contacts]
mailing list on Tuesday evening
- if you'd like to see them, get a hold of your Team Contact!

Hopefully the schedules will make it onto the London Ultimate Winter League
website (HYPERLINK
"http://www.londonultimate.com/winterleague"http://www.londonultimate.com/wi
nterleague) on Wednesday.

Here's an email full of info that may be worth printing out and bringing
with you.

MATCHDAY INFO

LWLC will be around from the early hours, setting out cones for the pitches.
We can have Captain's Meetings at approx 09:10, if needed.

Amsterdam)
3 pitches
on the West side of Wandsworth Common

map of location: HYPERLINK
"http://tinyurl.com/ya7t9x"http://tinyurl.com/ya7t9x
Games start at 09:30, real time, not 'ultimate time'!

Mixed 1
8 teams (ThunderingHerd; Thrown; Brighton; Discuits 1; ABH; OvaThrow;
Chichester; Equilibrium)

Game Rules (these are also printed on the schedules)
timeslot: 60 mins
gametime: 50mins plus 'cap' (below) - there will be hooters, but it's worth
keeping your eye on the time!
cap: just finish the point in progress, or play the next point if you're
between points. If scores are then level , play the sudden death point (no
draws are allowed)
if you get there quicker, games are to 13 points, with a halftime at 7
halftime: there's no time for stoppage - just 'mirror' (i.e. if TeamA
started the game at the downhill end on D, they start the second half at the
uphill end on O)
1 timeout of 2 minutes is allowed per team, any time in the game except
after the end hooter

You need to get to your next pitch quickly when you play back-to-back games.

Note: results need to be reported by text message to 'Twitter' ASAP after
the game, so we can calculate/confirm your second round games.

Resolving Tied Pool Results
if 2 teams have the same number of wins/losses, the winner of the
head-to-head game between those teams wins the tie;
if 3 teams have the same number of win/losses, apply the following
calculations in order, only moving on when the current method fails to
resolve the tie:
1) rank tied teams on goal difference between tied teams;
2) rank tied teams by points scored against other tied teams;
3) rank tied teams by points conceded against other tied teams;
4) rank tied teams on goal difference across the entire pool;
5) rank tied teams by points scored across the entire pool;
6) rank tied teams by points conceded across the entire pool;
DO NOT: eliminate one team using one of these methods, and then use the
head-to-head result to separate the other 2.

OTHER INFO

Transport
The pitches are a 5-10 min walk from Wandsworth Common railway station, or a
15-20 walk from Clapham South tube station
There's a link to the TfL Journey planner at HYPERLINK
"http://www.londonultimate.com/winterleague"http://www.londonultimate.com/wi
nterleague
Please plan your journey appropriately!

Parking
It is possible to park in the side streets (look at the maps linked above)
to the west and east of the Common - though, especially on the West, finding
a space may require perseverance.

Facilities
We don't really have access to any facilities (e.g. changing rooms, showers,
toilets, water taps, food & drink, medical), so be prepared for this.
There are toilets with cold taps 'behind' the tennis courts/bowling green on
the west of the railway track (see the map);
The 'Common Ground Cafe' (close to the Open pitches) may let you use the
toilet, and may fill your water bottle if you ask nicely, if they're open;
There are various other pubs and cafes within walking distance of the
Common, but it won't be a quick trip;
There's a convenience store by the Post Office (PO) on the A214 Trinity Road
that sells some amazing sandwiches
Further afield: there's a large Tesco; a Sainsbury's Local; and a variety of
cafes up by Clapham South tube station; and a cafe and toilets by the
Clapham South tennis courts/bowling green;

Weather
The weather is forecast to be typically British... HYPERLINK
"http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/UKXX1823_c.html"http://weather.yahoo.com/
forecast/UKXX1823_c.html
Not that we should need to, but we recommend that you bring:
* A decent pair of boots that will deal with wet grass and mud;
* Plenty of kit (including both light and dark shirts!) to play in,
including a cap and/or beanie;
* Warm and waterproof stuff to wear in your games off;
* A towel and dry clothes to change into at the end of the day;
* A waterproof bag (bin-liners work pretty well!) to keep it all dry in;
* Snacks and drinks to keep you going throughout the day (including a
flask of something hot to drink!)

Safety & Security
We're playing in an open public space in South London. Please look after
yourself, your belongings and your team-mates!

In the event of any emergencies from Friday night onward, phone at least one
member of the LWLC - our numbers are in the Contact Details database on
[lwl-contacts] that your Team Contact has access to.

Hopefully, that takes care of the questions...

Hello Winter League! Given it is now 2007, are we going to be playing the 2007 WFDF rules? Thanks, Steve ________________________________ From:...

Steve, Think the decision is to stick with the old rules and move to the new ones next month. See the thread below. ...
