Haskins is not really a hill, compared to other hills around. Less than
8mins, not steep at all. The problem is when you do it in a race, then
it hurts... People will attack right at the bottom when you make a right
onto Haskins, there's a steeper section -- not too steep though, unless
attacks are flying. Same thing towards the top, people go ballistic
there as well in a race, but again, it's not really steep or hard.
Unless you do it at race pace it's a quite mellow affair, at least
compared to Bohlman or Redwood Gulch or other such torture-hills. That's
the Pescadero RR version/direction, if you go up from Pesky towards
Skyline, i.e. the opposite direction of the road race, it's a little
longer and steeper, but not all that bad either.
>Would someone mind pointing out to me where Haskins Hill is on the course of
the Pescadero RR? How does it compare to other hills in the area? Of course, my
standard of ultimate pain & suffering is Welch Creek but maybe that is just
because I haven't been up the apparently epic Bohlman-on-Orbit climb.
