When you turn off Hwy 84 onto Pescadero Road, the road soon starts to climb upwards. That's Haskins Hill. It's not a killer like Welch Creek, Bohlman -- On Orbit, Redwood Gulch, and the like, just a moderately long slog. Many of us find the slope one we can actually try to "race" up -- and that makes it hard! Good luck. Keith
I think the part of Haskins Hill that's important starts at the righthand sweeper where Pescadero Rd. joins West Alpine [1]. You're right about the slope on Haskins going the direction of the Pescadero RR. Going the other way is much tougher, I think. I should also point out that after one has crested the hill, the first couple of left turns can be a bit hectic. They're decreasing radius, slightly off-camber and gravity-fed. Something to pay attention to or you can end up in the whoopie bushes halfway to Loma Mar. Just sayin'.
