Well, the Low-Key climbs are only a week away, and I'm sure we're all
looking towards them with a mixture of excitement and trepidation,
much like a burrito your friends swear is "extraordinarily tasty" but
also "very, very spicy" and "actually made me sick last time I ate
one."
I thought a neat thing would be to start a Low-Key twitter account,
which is a nice way to push information out to riders.
The advantage? You can sign up for SMS notifications of the twitter
posts, which will make it handy for organizers to disseminate last
minute information. For instance, races delayed / changed by inclement
weather. Or perhaps the Fed will deem us "too big to fail" and drive
us all to the top of Montebello in stretch Hummers, and we'll have a
champagne breakfast instead.
Don't have a twitter account? It's easy. Go to twitter.com and sign
up. Then visit:
http://twitter.com/lkhc
... and hit the "Follow" button. Use the "Settings" tab to configure
your mobile device and receive updates from your twitter friend
"lkhc", and each update will be pushed to your phone.
Are you a race organizer? I'll be sending you the "lkhc" username and
password, so you too can log into twitter and make updates on the lkhc
feed. You can always sign up for your own personal account too, so you
get messages regarding other races.
Got an iPhone? There are heaps of good twitter clients on the app
store. You can also get desktop twitter clients too. You can get
updates via RSS. You can pretty much get twitter on just about
anything.
Enjoy! See you at Montebello!
Regards,
Luke. (@hagus on twitter.)
