Re: [libertysidesaddle] Another Question

A Tandy's hide sale is my best bet. I still have a half hide I couldn't resist. Baby blue and dusty blue suede side.
Doe skin on sale if you can get it is so sofy for garment weight.
The scrap leather bin for $4.00 a pound is where it's at for good smaller sized leather to tool. Trim is great if you just buy when it's there.
I must be so tight or to put it nicely- an inveterate bargain hunter.

Thanks everyone!!!!!
Now, if I had a color of ultrasuede I just had to have, could I make it work w/a heavier lining? or w/a scrap fabric in between a regular lining and the suede?

To late in the day to think.
However get plenty to lay out, like a full hide (on sale with plenty of colors from Tandy sometimes) open it up, look seriously for flaws and pin holes. All will be where you lay out your pattern believe me.
You want every inch to be flawless and if not that you sure want the entire thing to the edges.
Also if you plan right you can use the rough side near side and sew right and have the smooth side be an offside (if you ever get an offside SS), by sewing the seams and darts to look right on both sides and the belt.
