This subgroup of the Long Island Bicycle Club (LIBC) is known as the "C" riders. C, in this vernacula, is a kind of riding style that can be considered moderate, i.e., slower than "B" which is even slower than "A" riders who are, again, even slower than the "AA" riders. Still, I like to think of the "C" as a shortened version of the word "C"ivilized because we ride at "C"onversational pace, we're very "C"onsiderate, value our "C"omforts, and though our ages span from 20-something on up, as old as 80, we can all be described as "C"ool, even "C"ute with the right combination of eccentricities, our "C"razy nature. We also sponsor an occasional, separate, 'Easyride' for new and very slow riders and hope to sponsor some "C+" rides which are slightly faster than the regular rides. BUT THE DESSERT IS>>> when we all go away sharing the weekends at nearby locations where we stay at moderately priced but very comfortable hotels and take daily cycling sojourns of 40 to 50 miles...exquisite!
