BULGARIA LIFTS CONTROVERSIAL CHORNY'S ENTRY BAN
19 January 2004:
Bulgaria's Supreme Administrative Court lifted the second ban for controversial
Russia-born businessman Michael Chorny to enter the country. The court order
refers to the ban issued by Bulgaria's Interior Ministry October 14, 2003.
Chorny was originally banned from stepping into Bulgaria's territory in 2000 on
suspicions of money laundry. On October 7 the ban was lifted by Bulgaria's
Supreme Administrative Court.
Later in the day Chorny's lawyer Todor Batkov announced that his client is to
file a complaint in Strasbourg against the Interior Ministry ban.
