The 'blues' were snapped by 1-0 at 'Gerena' residential area
Levski lost 0-1 from Dinamo (Kiev) before 20,000 own fans at 'Georgi
Asparouhov' st., which bodes certain failure at the third attempt of
the 'blues' to compete in the Champions League. Romanian Florin
Chernat scored the only goal in the 60th min. Bulgarians pressed the
adversary in early-match, but scoring situations were rarity. Goalie
of Dinamo - Vitalii Reva deflected with difficulty a strike of Sasa
Simonovic. In 32 min. Pantelic made a breakthrough and was left
alone in the penalty area, but lost both balance and the ball. The
guest played with self-confidence and without any panic in front of
their own goal. Moreover they set the tempo to deaden the
aggressiveness of the 'blues'. After the break it transpired that
the team of Dinamo was in a better physical condition and in the 60
min. they scored a goal. The collective error in the 'blue' defence
line made it possible Chernat to shoot down Ivankov. Levski tried to
return the score, but Vava was the only one to impede Dinamo's
defence. The return game is after a couple of weeks in Kiev. If the
Bulgarian champion is eliminated, the team will go further to play
in the UEFA Cup tournament, where Litex and CSKA made their start
yesterday evening.
