There will not be a repeat performance of two years ago. This time
around, we couldn't pass the Korean hurdle unfortunately for a second
chance against China.

In a closely contested match, Lebanon even got a 5-point advantage 54-
49in third quarter, and the regulation time of which finished with a
great basket from Ghaleb Rida forcing an overtime 74-74.

But in overtime, and although the Lebanese had the possession ball
for the last 5 seconds with the score at 85-83 favor of the South
Koreans, our men missed the chance to make it a three point shot for
a win or at least a basket to equalize for a second overtime. Instead
Elie's pass just went astray and it was all over for Lebanese.

Sadly we will not reach the Asina national final. Last time around,
Lebanon had won against this team 75-72 to reach the final and thus
qualify for Indanapolis 2002 World Championhsip.

Still our congratulations for the fighting spirit of Lebanon's well-
coached selection and their urge to win.
