Following the rise of Champville as one of the most successful
basketball teams in Lebanon, the club has launched an official
website which please check at:
http://www.champvilleclub.com
The site is all French. Of course this is explicable by the
Champvile school being French-oriented.
But for more effective coverage, I believe using Arabic and a
helpful English section will be a great improvement on the site.
No doubt the basketball internet scene is getting better with a host
of new sites, which is always gratifying to see and follow. Let's
hope other clubs will follow suit with equally good basketball sites.
On a related note, Champville has agreed to lend its naturalized
American-Lebanese player Joseph Vogel to accompany Sagesse to
Malaysia for the Asian Basketball Club Championships. And he will
thankfuly play as a Lebanese player allowing Sagesse to use both
Vogel, Johnny Rhodes and Sherrel Ford simultaneously.
Champville Club is also well into launching its own big stadium on
school ground. Presently the club plays in a very small stadium in
Centrale Jounieh and the growing number of fans of the club or fans
of guest teams always face problems of space and many have to return
home empty-handed as the limited number of tickets sold runs dry
quickly.
