Regardless of what one thinks of Sagesse's
decision to present a Junior's roster for its game against
Riyadi, this matter gives a lot of food for thought of
how to give exposure and create experience
opportunities for our juniors.

Petrovic wasn't pleased
(he has his own reasons that a team should present
its best players for any game etc etc that fans
deserve better) but obviously Ghassan Sarkis was more
jubilant and praised not only his "boys" but also Riyadi's
Bellan and Ibrahim. The fans also were in great spirits.
Players like Ali Bellan or Mohammad Ibrahim or Julian
Attallah or Nadim Hawi or Mohammad Nahhas are actually
obvious crowd favorites. But they need not have to wait
for the last two minutes and need to get valid
playing time regularly. They are not gaining much
experience by sitting on the bench anyway. True they are on
the roster, but this is just a formality. Loan
players to second division teams are more experienced in
time play than those guys.

The same phenomenon
of fascination with younger players happens when
Antranik uses Harout Kouzoujian or David Der Yeghiayan.
You would immedately see an electrifying atmosphere
the second David goes in to play quality time. The
same is true for Ramy Akiki or for Sadaka's Hilal
Chiet (now in the Army team) or Riad Khatib or Sobhi
Ayyad (who was extremely popular in Homenetmen, now
rarely used by his new club) or Tareq Younes, Khaled el
Mawla in last year's Jamhour.

There are a huge
number of players like this, but I cannot possibly
include everybody in this list or we will never
finish.

CONTINUED IN THE NEXT POST.
