Lazio fortunes turning - Papadopulo
tribalfootball.com - February 13, 2005
Fabio Liverani's late strike allowed Lazio to stop the rot with a 2-
1 win over Serie A basement side Atalanta and help decrease their
relegation fears.
The Biancoceleste midfielder scored in the 89th minute to give his
team three vital points.
Fabio Bazzani's header at the stroke of half time had earlier
cancelled Atalanta's lead which came from Stephan Makinwa's goal one
minute earlier.
Lazio coach Beppe Papadopulo said: "This time we got the victory in
stoppages, whereas at Milan and Reggina we lost everything in that
same period.
"At last our luck has turned after so many unfortunate incidents.
"We came up against a determined Atalanta side, but our motivation
was even greater. We simply couldn't fail to win this match. This
side has all the necessary qualities to turn our season around."
