Caribbean Series petitioned to expand
Nicaragua, Colombia seek inclusion; no timetable set
for teams

CAROLINA, P.R. -- The four-country Caribbean Series
may be growing by two.

At a press conference Sunday night, Caribbean Series
commissioner Juan Francisco Puello Herrera welcomed
the idea of expansion. Nicaragua and Colombia have
petitioned to the Caribbean Confederation, and both
have a chance of being mixed into the Series which has
exclusively had Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Mexico and the
Dominican Republic.
