Marlins to celebrate Puerto Rican Heritage Night on
July 22

MIAMI -- The Florida Marlins are set to host Puerto
Rican Heritage Night on Saturday, July 22, when the
Fish take on the Pirates in a 6:05 p.m. game at
Dolphin Stadium. The celebration is part of the
Hispanic Heritage Nights at the park.
World-renowned salsa artist Victor Manuelle, a
multiple Grammy Award winner, will throw out the
ceremonial first pitch. Additionally, the Puerto Rican
flag will fly in centerfield, and Iris Salazar Mojica
will perform the Puerto Rican anthem, "La Borinqueña,"
as part of the pregame ceremonies.

Fans are encouraged to arrive as early as 4:30 p.m. to
enjoy the popular Fiesta Latina at the Gate H plaza,
featuring free salsa dance lessons and live music. For
this special occasion, fans will be allowed to enter
the stadium with their own musical instruments,
including maracas and tambourines, to cheer on the
Marlins. Plus, Plena Es!, a 10-member pleneros band,
will bring some Puerto Rican flavor to the stands
during the game.

A special pregame tribute to Puerto Rican baseball
legend and Hall-of-Famer Roberto Clemente is also
scheduled. The on-field ceremony will include the
presentation of the official proclamation of July 22
as 'Roberto Clemente Day' by Miami-Dade County Mayor
Carlos Alvarez. Luis de la Rosa, President of the
Puerto Rican Chamber of South Florida, and Marlins
Radio Announcer and Hall-of-Famer Felo Ramirez will be
part of the celebration. Also, a limited amount of
Puerto Rican mini-flags will be available to fans at
the Marlins Fan headquarters in section 149.

Each fan who purchases a ticket for the July 22 game
online through the team's official website will
receive a ticket to watch the Marlins play the
Philadelphia Phillies on Sept. 9 during Hispanic
Heritage Weekend.

Tickets to the event can be purchased at the stadium's
box office, at the Marlins en Miami store in Coral
Gables, online at
www.floridamarlins/puertoricannight.com or by calling
1-877-MARLINS.
