Hello everybody-
I'm new to SABR, and I'm wrapping up a book about
former Astros,
Cardinals &
A's right-hander JOAQUIN ANDUJAR.
Hundreds of hours of microfilm research and interviews
make me
confident
that I have the funny quotes, unpredictable
switch-hitting and boxscore
details covered, but I'm sure that many of you can
teach me things
about his
career that I wouldn't even have thought of.
>If you have eyewitness memories of his
career, "brush with
greatness" encounters at the ballpark or hotel, or
anecdotes that
haven't
grown stale, I'd love to hear from you.
>Photographs from any stage of his career
would also be very
helpful.
>If you're an expert about any of the teams he
played for,
relevant
details about those clubs would also be great.
>Anything that you think is an important part
of the story,
please
put your two cents in.
His professional career got started a few months
before I was born, so
if
you can shed light on his minor league days and/or
winter ball
exploits, I'd
be especially appreciative.
Thank you all for your time,
Malcolm Allen
