Hey skaters,

Reminder, the first Saturday of the month means the Saturday Night Classic.

And since the Sunday skate is cancelled this week due to the bike race, this is
your opportunity to get your skate on this weekend.

There is no Sunday skate this week due to the International Bike Race.  (You
can't get near the Art Museum on Sunday.)

Alternatives include the Saturday Night skate,  and there is usually a 'Bike
Race Skate' that day as well. Look for a post on that soon (hopefully!)

And, again, 270 Lyceum is my spot on The Wall. If you're not up for the skate
(or the skate back), SEPTA's Manayunk/Norristown Line (formerly 'R6'), is
running at half hour intervals for the race. You can catch that in Conshohocken,
coming from the burbs.

Hi all

I'm wondering if anyone has 2 (new or used) 82.5 mm wheels (yes, they do
exist)

except for the 2nd wheel in, you can put 84s on the Salomon ?2000 model
designed for max of 82,5 mm
(80s are too small, the wheel doesn't hit the ground)

(these are the Salomons that Mischa and Mike have; I believe)

thanks

Pamela

Original Acts Needed For First-Ever, Authorized "Gong Show Live" Premiering in
New York City on August 12
In
the spirit of the original, popular and charmingly deranged '70s TV
show, offbeat acts are requested to submit online auditions by July 1
for the first-ever, authorized Gong Show Live, premiering at BB King's in Times
Square, New York City on Thursday, August 12th.
New York City (Vocus/PRWEB ) June 2, 2010 -- Original acts are needed now to
audition for the
first-ever, authorized "Gong Show Live," premiering at BB King’s Blues
Club in Times Square, New York City on Thursday, August 12th at 8pm.

First "Gong Show Live" Coming to New York City
Two-minute video auditions can be submitted online at Gong Show Live through
Thursday, July 1, 2010.
According to promoter Leslie Gold, whose Radiochick Corporation has
been awarded the rights to stage "Gong Show" live events in venues
throughout the US, “If you can actually sing and dance, that's nice,
but it is not the point. We are looking for originality and balls. No
act is too strange or freakish. If you can make your friends howl with
laughter or recoil in horror, chances are very good that you're our
type of act.” If

We are looking for originality and balls. No act is too strange or
freakish. If you can make your friends howl with laughter or recoil in
horror, chances are very good that you're our type of act. Casting for "Gong
Show Live" is being overseen by Robert Russell,
renowned for the New York casting of dozens of hit TV shows, including
The Bachelor, The Apprentice, Rock Star INXS, Big Brother, The
Restaurant, Moment of Truth and NBC's Phenomenon. The August 12th show
will be attended by several reality and variety show television
producers.
In the spirit of the original, wildly popular and charmingly
deranged ‘70s TV show The Gong Show, "Gong Show Live" will feature
original acts performing before a live audience. The show will be MC’ed
by comedian Ray Ellin, and judged by three stars of comedy, TV, and
radio. "Gong Show Live" will also feature a live band led by renowned
musician Sandy Gennaro (Cyndi Lauper, Joan Jett, The Monkees, Bo

it.

The date is Sunday, July 11th from 12 to 7pm. Normal skate to be enjoyed and
come on by after for lunch. We will need any skate stuff before vending starts.
We will be looking for a few volunteers to help out at the table.

not always associated with Philadelphia, while heading north to the
Polish port town of Port Richmond (think friendly
bars, Polish bakeries, and a destination many locals have not even
seen), led by Doug.

3 pm: U.S. Freestyle Skating Assn. Slalom Battle,
Hotel Parking Lot Jeremy and an international cast of competitors square
off on the cones.

5 pm: Beer Skate, 12 easy-going miles, around our
Center City cultural landmarks, including yeast cultures, led by
Christophe.

SUNDAY
8:30 am: Wild Things Skate, 12 miles, skate through the
Philadelphia Zoo, and beyond to the Japanese House, and St. Joe's, and,
yes, hills, led by Doug & Pete.

Note: This skate will return in time for the
noon checkout.
There will be no normally-scheduled 10
am skate.

The weather forecast looks great for Philly Free Skate! Sunny and low 90s. Don't
forget water!
Check your skates: put on new wheels (82A min recommended), clean up or replace
the bearings, bring a spare brake for the weekend, put on that big smile of yours
and show up!

Kindle, I don't know if you received my e-mails, I'm attempting to reach you
regarding a Wilmington skate. Our club was planning on a city skate in
Wilmington and again with smaller numbers it looks better to coordinate with the
Landskaters. I'm told you wanted to do one the week after the free skate. Can
you contact me regarding this so I can post date and time to our club meet-up?
